When something happens in your natural world, good or bad, do you look for God in it…and thank Him?
For the little things…
…beautiful days when you have something planned
…rain that causes your plans to be cancelled (and what you were able to do instead)
…finding just the right gift at a store you impulsively went to
…all the sales on items you need at the grocery store God led you to (Yes, I ask God which store is best for that day)
…the ability to work out
…traffic jams (the patience-builders)
…and the list goes on; how much time do you have?
For bigger things…
…finding a doctor who solves your problem when so many doctors failed
…health problems (e.g., bad gall bladder) that reveal a hidden problem that needs to be addressed (large kidney stone)
…never having children, which led to so many other blessings we never would have experienced
…healing and deliverance from pain and hurts from the past, done over many years
…and this list goes on also – both my and other people’s testimonies!
Sadly, many people miss the sovereign hand of God in their lives. They credit fate, circumstances, and other people, not recognizing that God is behind everything that happens in their lives.
Does God cause the bad things? Of course not! But I believe He allows hurtful people, disease, tragedy, and other bad things to happen to us, sometimes for His purposes and sometimes because people have free will and our/their choices impact us. I have to believe that He is big enough to stop them but in His mercy allows them, ultimately for our good, or He’s not a big enough God for me to serve.
When we look for God in everything, He reveals Himself in ways we can’t even imagine. He changes our perspective. He brings good out of evil, healing for sickness, provision for our every need. He moves in His perfect way, in His perfect time (not always here on earth), always for our good.

Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!

Lord, thank you for everything – and I mean everything – you allow in my life today.
Please help me to see where you are working to bring good,
even though I can’t see it now.
Help me to be a blessing to those around me.
